Federal Tax Authority Announces Grace Period for Tax Registration Updates Until March 2025

The United Arab Emirates’ Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has introduced a grace period for businesses to update their tax registration information without incurring penalties. This initiative, effective from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, aims to support businesses in meeting their tax obligations efficiently.

Key Highlights:

Grace Period Duration: January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
Scope: Allows businesses to update tax registration details such as name, address, email, commercial license activities, legal form, partnership agreements, and articles of association without facing administrative penalties.
Penalty Refunds: Businesses that have already paid penalties for failing to update their records during this period are eligible for refunds, in line with Cabinet Decision No. 105 of 2021.
